What is an Internal Medicine (IM) Consultant?
- A physician who specializes in adult health problems
- Trains for an extra 4 years
- Training includes all adult medical problems including heart, kidney, lung, diabetes and more
- Works closely with your doctor/nurse practitioner
What Services do they provide in Mission?
- General Internal Medicine Clinic – 3 afternoons/week where the consultant evaluates and treats any adult medical problem.
- Chest Pain Clinic – 2 full days/week, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Evaluation and treatment of chest pain that could be due to heart disease including on-site stress tests (the treadmill). Evaluation and treatment of other heart problems including rhythm issues.
